This May crossword puzzle is a fun way to celebrate that wonderful stretch of spring when flowers are blooming, the days are warmer, and summer suddenly doesn’t feel so far away. May always seems to have a little bit of everything going on, which makes it such a fun theme for a puzzle.

Kids can work through clues inspired by the season and fill in the answers as they go. It’s a nice change from a word search because they have to stop, think about each clue, and figure out which word fits. There’s plenty of spelling and vocabulary practice tucked in without making it feel like extra schoolwork.
