4th of July Word Search

This 4th of July word search is a fun little addition to a day filled with backyard cookouts, waving flags, summer sunshine, and waiting for the fireworks to begin. I wanted this puzzle to capture some of the things that make Independence Day so recognizable while giving kids an easy activity they can enjoy wherever the celebration takes them.

Hidden throughout the puzzle are words inspired by the Fourth of July, patriotic symbols, and favorite holiday traditions. Kids can hunt for each one while getting a little spelling and concentration practice along the way—although they’ll probably be much more interested in finding that last stubborn word!

Print copies for a family gathering, set them on the kids’ table at a cookout, or bring them along to a picnic. It’s also a handy activity for keeping kids occupied while everyone waits for the evening festivities. Just add pencils and let the searching begin!
