This Memorial Day word scramble offers kids a thoughtful puzzle to solve while learning vocabulary connected to the meaning of the holiday. I wanted this activity to be more than just a page of mixed-up letters, so the words focus on remembrance, honor, service, and some of the familiar traditions and symbols associated with Memorial Day.

Kids will need to study each scrambled word, rearrange the letters, and figure out the correct answer. Some may be easy to spot, while others might require a little patience and creative thinking. That extra challenge makes word scrambles great for practicing spelling and problem-solving skills.

This printable is easy to work into a classroom lesson, homeschool study, or Memorial Day activity packet. It can also be a starting point for talking about why Memorial Day is observed and remembering the U.S. military members who lost their lives while serving our country.
