This summer word search for kids is an easy activity to pull out when you hear those two familiar words: “I’m bored!” I always love having a few printable activities ready for summer because they’re simple, screen-free, and don’t require me to plan anything ahead of time.

Kids can hunt for summer-themed words while thinking about sunny days, trips to the beach, swimming, ice cream, and all the other little things that make this season so much fun. It’s a nice way to sneak in some spelling and vocabulary practice without making it feel like schoolwork.

Print a few copies before heading out on a summer road trip, bring one along on vacation, or keep some ready for quiet afternoons at home. You could even add it to a summer activity binder for those extra-long days.

All you need is the printable and a pencil, and the word hunting can begin!
